Vacuum packing is specifically used to reduce the weight of other non-edible items such as mattresses and clothes. They are later emptied using a vacuum cleaner. The product is placed inside it, the lid is shut down, and the air is removed. Once all the air is eliminated, the bag is sealed and the lid is opened to remove the product. These chambers are meant for industrial vacuum storage purposes. This method is very useful in relation to food packaging. It allows for preparation of special foods which are the preserved via vacuum packing.
